Vietnam Legacy Tours runs private and small-group heritage tours across Central Vietnam, led by licensed local guides rather than drivers. Every itinerary is curated for travellers who want to understand a place, not just photograph it — the history behind the halls, the meaning behind the rituals, and the calm to take it in. That is what we mean by Heritage Without the Hustle: well-paced days, accurate storytelling, and guides chosen for their depth.

Our home is Hue, the old imperial capital, and our reach extends along the central coast — towards Hoi An and the wider heritage of the region.

Our Hue Tours

Hue is where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled, and where our deepest tours are based. Each is led by a licensed native guide selected and briefed by Vietnam Legacy Tours.

Cruise Shore Excursions — Chan May & Tien Sa

Sailing in by cruise ship? Our private shore excursions run from both of Central Vietnam’s cruise ports — Chan May, the gateway to Hue and Hoi An, and Tien Sa in Da Nang. Every day is timed to your ship’s schedule, and the vehicle is back at your port 75 minutes before all-aboard.

Where we travel

We focus on Central Vietnam, where the country’s imperial and cultural heritage is most concentrated — along the heritage road that runs from Quảng Trị through Huế and over the Hai Van Pass to Hoi An. Start with Hue — its citadel, royal tombs, food and river — then follow the coast towards Hoi An and the surrounding region as your journey grows. We keep our scope to the centre on purpose: it is the ground we know best, so the guiding stays expert rather than spread thin.

Planning when to come? Our guide to the best time to visit Hue breaks the year down month by month.

Why Vietnam Legacy Tours

Across Central Vietnam, most tours are run by drivers, not guides. We are the opposite: every VLT day — a citadel morning in Hue, an old-town walk in Hoi An, a shore excursion from Chan May or Tien Sa — is led by a licensed local guide, vetted for accurate history and a calm, unhurried manner. That curation is the company’s whole reason for being: heritage explained properly, by people who grew up with it, without the rush.

And if you arrive by cruise ship, the same principle holds with one addition — the day is built backwards from your all-aboard time. Published timings, a port buffer that is never touched, and a deposit that comes back automatically if your ship cannot dock. You get a genuine guide’s day ashore, not a coach tour, at an independent operator’s price.
